Matinee hockey is different than most night games. This past weekend, Justin and I woke up both Saturday and Sunday to a hockey game. Justin is usually coming back from classes or we are eating dinner when we watch a Hawks game. Sunday's game against the Red Wings proved to be exciting and the competitive banter between Justin, Trish and I made it even better. The game ended up going into overtime and then to a shootout. Then the Blackhawks showed "Scum" (as Justin kindly calls them) who's boss.
With matinee hockey games ending at around two or three in the afternoon, the rest of the day seems boring with nothing to look forward to in the evening. As fun as these games are, I am thankful that they are rare.
